Your Kitchen’s Recipe Against Flatulence

Flatulence is not a disease; rather it is condition of digestive system which sometimes indicates some hidden ailments. However, the diet which should be prescribed against flatulence needs to be preventive enough to check the recurrence of the problem. The treatment of flatulence is comprised of proper chewing of food, dietary adjustment, and eradication of intestinal infection, if there is any; so diet plays a major role in managing this problem.

Adequate water consumption is one of the main essentials of flatulence diet because adequate water consumption initiates easy and regular bowl movement. However, the patients of flatulence should consume water after 15-20 minutes of the main meal.

If water is taken along with meal, it may worsen distension. While drinking something one should use straw it aggravated the chance of swallowing more air forming chance of flatulence in the digestive track.

Diet chart should be modified for the flatulence patient. Instead of two main meals 3-4 small meals will be better for diet chart because in the later process stomach will never be empty causing gas and discomfort. The dinner needs to taken at least before 2 hours of retiring to bed.

Potato and rice can be included in flatulence diet in recommended quantity on the other hand onions and fibrous cabbage is strictly prohibited in the flatulence diet regimen. Spicy foods are not to be takes so is fried and fatty foods; these items stay long in stomach and results in fermentation.

The ideal diet for flatulence prevention needs to be simple and nutritious. It should be made with simple and unprocessed carbohydrates; refined carbohydrate needs to be avoided.

Dairy products, especially, high calorie dairy foods need to be avoided because these food items may cause trouble in digestive track creating gas and heartburn. Fresh fruits, diluted fruit juices, lean meat, and soy products are to be included in the diet chart of a flatulence patient for simple and nutritious food intake.

Vegetable salad, pastries, thick soup, nuts and dry fruit, condiments and spices, peas, cabbage, fried foods are need to be strictly avoided to avert discomfort and pain of recurring flatulence.
