Winter Foot Care
In winter, humidity in the air gets reduced and due to dehydrated climate the open portions of human body suffer from dehydrating problem. Feet are the stress bearing parts of our body, and it expose prone to ground. So it gets dehydrated quickly. Regular application of oil and water is the primary foot care in the wintry season because dehydration can be resisted through these two simple habits.
Before bathing oil massage in feet keeps the skin layer soft and supple. You can use coconut oil or simply mustard oil. Olive oil is good for skin but it is better to use at night, before going to bed. You can slightly heat the oil before message.
You can mix 100g coconut oil with 10 drop of sandalwood oil. It is n excellent massage oil that keeps feet soft, smooth, sandalwood oil retains moisture and reduces stress and tiredness.
You can use lemon turmeric cream instead of oil and you will get the same result of skin softness. By chance if you are using hard water, lemon and turmeric reduces the black shed of skin and in case of chlorinated water, it keeps skin soft.
You can use a home made paste instead of conventional soap for this season for your foot scrub. Gram powder mixed with card, salt and turmeric need to be applied in the feet and then with a foot file smoothly rub the feet end and heels for exfoliation. This paste will work as a natural cleanser.
After bath you can apply vitamin E enriched moisturizer. Otherwise massaging feet with almond oil and olive oil combination proves beneficial for soft foot skin.
In problem of cracked heel exfoliation regularly is essential. To soft the cracked heel you can dip your feet into lemon soak. Lemon soak can be made at home with fresh lemon extract in lukewarm water added with two drops of shampoo. Never use metal scrubber for exfoliation of heel.
Do this foot soaking process twice a day, before bath and before going to bed. You can use a homemade ointment made of natural wax and coconut or oil olive oil. Before using this mixture, apply little heat in it, it will melt down. Use cotton socks at night to retain the cream at feet.
You should indulge liberal consuming of water to keep hydration level proper in body.
