Waxing tips: waxing at home

Waxing is a common cleansing process for removal of unwanted hairs from body. Out of the popular hair removing methods, waxing one of the most popular processes because waxing is simple, easy to do process, it has cost efficiency, and waxing brings good result on skin exfoliation. Waxing does not have any adverse effect on skin either. However, waxing can be done at home as well as in salon. If we prefer to do home waxing, it is necessary to know some dos and don’ts in order to carry out a hassle-free, skin-friendly waxing session.

Home waxing can be done for hair removal from legs, hands, underarms, back and stomach. Those who have fascinations for bikini-waxing and requirement of face- waxing, they should go to good salons for trouble-free waxing session.

It is always suggested that in post-waxing period use of soap, body deodorant, perfume etc is harmful for skin tone; use of perfume on waxed skin induces roughness and skin irritation. After 48 hours of waxing, one can go back in her normal skin care routine. Immediate after waxing, sun exposure of skin should be restricted.

Generally, two types of wax are available. These are hot wax and cold wax. Those who have sensitive skin should use cold wax although hot wax is more effective as hair remover than cold wax.

It is always recommended to run exfoliation process on the skin area where waxing will be done. If exfoliation can be done in pre-waxing period, waxing process can up root the hairs from its roots thus it takes more time to have regrowth of hair again.

Ladies should avoid waxing during their menstrual bleeding period because during this time skin remains too sensitive due to unusual hormonal arrangement of body.

Two types of wax are available in market; one popular brand is home made wax and the second option is synthetic wax. It is always good to use homemade wax option because synthetic wax may initiate allergic rash on the waxed skin in post-waxing period.

Instead of trying for market available wax, it is good to make it by self-made process. An herbal combination is to be formed by mixing one cup lemon juice and one cup sugar together. The blended material has to be placed on low heat and simmer the combination for 15 minutes. With the complete melting of sugar, a thick pulpy liquid will be formed and this is a good alternative for market available wax.
