Urinary Tract Infection Causes and Symptoms

Urinary tract is the filtering system of body, which takes care of regular excretion of liquid wastes from health system. It has been found that women are more susceptible to urinary tract infection due to the short size of urinary tract.

Urinary tract infection is no doubt a painful disorder and above all it is a nagging kind of disease. Unless the infection is completely cured or hygienic condition of body is not maintained, there is high chance to recur it again and again. So if we want to resist it, we should know first about the prevalent causes responsible for the urinary tract infection.

One of the most common causes of urinary tract infection is induction of bacteria from bowel that generally exist on the skin surface near vagina or rectum. Once these bacteria get into urethra, they start traveling upward and induce infection in urinary bladder as well as the other parts of urinary tract causing UTI.

Other common cause for UTI is unprotected sexual intercourse where the bacteria in vagina may get inserted into urethra and causes the problem of infection.

Women who constantly change their sexual partners or are habituated for frequent session of intercourse are more susceptible to urinary tract infection that those women who maintain monogamous relationship. In some rare instances, women get the infection back at her urinary tract every time she has sexual intercourse.

Another reason for UTI is long suppression of the urge to urinate. This habit of retaining urine in bladder causes weakening of muscles and ultimately results in incomplete urination. The residual part of urine left in the bladder may cause urinary tract infection.

Other than these issues, pregnancy, diabetes, or menopause may induce the problem of urinary tract infection frequently.

The symptoms of UTI are easy to detect because all of them are bold and distinct with annoying discomfort. UTI infected patients will surely feel strong urge to go for urination and passing of urine is usually associated with burning sensation and sharp pain in urethra. The urge to urinate occurs within short interval and gradually the victim of UTI start suffering from sharp pain in low back area of body.

Other than these symptoms, average UTI patients may suffer from recurring discomfort of nausea, mild fever, chill, shivering, and vomiting, until the problem is not completely recovered by medications and treatment.
