Urinary Incontinence In Women
Urinary incontinence is a problem of weak control of urinary bladder that triggers sudden leakage of urine. In perspective of health issue this is not a fatal disease but may cause ample embarrassing situation that is impossible to control. In case of women urinary incontinence are observed of two major types one is stress incontinence and the second type is urge incontinence and in some specific cases the problem of urinary incontinence is a combination of these two types, this kind of cases of urinary incontinence is called mixed incontinence.
Some times there are some instigating situations which may trigger the problem of urinary incontinence. Out of the conditions urinary tract infection, pregnancy, or the problem of constipation may trigger the problem of urinary incontinence in a woman irrespective of her age and other associated physical condition.
Some times week lower urinary tract muscle causes urinary incontinence.
There are some problems in urinary tract or there must be some anomalies on the concerned nerves those control the urge to urinate.
Stress incontinence is caused when due to laughing, coughing, or due to laughing or due to some actions causing pressure on urinary bladder triggers sudden leakage of urine. This leakage is triggered by stress on bladder hence this kind of urinary incontinence is called urinary incontinence.
Stress incontinence can be initiated by sudden weight gain, post-childbirth, pre-child birth or some other conditions that causes unnatural stretch the pelvic floor muscles. When the pelvic muscles cannot provide adequate back up for bladder, due to dropping down of bladder it creates a thrust on vagina by the pushed bladder. So the slightest trigger causes the leakage of urine.
Urge incontinence is triggered by a sudden feeling of urge to urinate and this may happen without any prior signal. This is an overflow of urine in bladder but not necessarily the bladder needs to be full for the leakage. It may cause emotional stress, stroke or diseases like Parkinson’s disease. In many cases the root cause remains unexplored despite of detail clinical investigation.
Doctors may suggest for some kegel exercise to make the pelvic muscles strong. Some times proper drugs are also suggested to ensure better control on the muscles. Sometimes installation of pessary may affect positively to ensure better control on your pelvic muscles. If the external intervening procedure do not work doctor may go for surgery to rectify the bladder position.
