Symptoms of Sinus Infection

Sinus infection is also known as sinusitis; it is caused due to inflammation of nasal passage and sinuses. Sinus infection initiates headache or pressure in the nose, eyes, cheek area and on any one side of the head.

A sinus patient may suffer from symptoms like chronic cough, bad breath, and fever; chronic nasal congestion with thick nasal discharge is also a common symptom for sinus patients. Commonly, two types of sinus are seen: chronic sinus which is commonly found and acute sinus which is seen as sudden onset of physical disorder.

However there are some general symptoms for sinus like, treatment resistant cold attack,  chronic cough and cold, headache in the morning, low grade fever, unconditional tiredness, constant running nose, consistent problem of nasal congestion, bad breath, swollen eye lids, post-natal drip, stuffy nose, constant feeling of suffocation, facial swelling, frequent spell of fever with cluster headache, fullness in ears, complication of tinnitus, decreased sensitivity toward smell, and voice hoarseness.

Despite general similarity between the symptoms for sinus, there are some distinctions between the displayed symptoms of acute sinus and chronic sinus.

Acute sinus attack lasts for maximum 2-3 weeks and this problem takes place after certain viral infection. Some of the symptoms for acute sinus are constant nasal secretion, facial pain and pressure, thick and greenish or yellowish nasal secretion, reduces sense of smell, chronic cough problem, bad breath, low fever or feverish feeling, problem of toothache on the upper denture row, and unconditional fatigue.

When a person suffers from frequent bout of sinus infection, it is assumed that the person is suffering from chronic sinus. In general, asthma and allergy prone persons suffer from chronic sinus infection more. General symptoms for chronic sinus are almost same as acute sinus; the only difference persists in a few factors.

Due to chronic infection pus in found in nasal cavities, occasional bout of high fever, discomfort of vomiting, and acute display of cold and flu symptoms along with acute cluster headache are seen in chronic sinus patient.

Long- term treatment, practice of yoga, and a few natural cure remedies can cure the problem of sinus efficiently.
