Swollen ankle: treatment during pregnancy

Pregnant ladies often face the problem of swollen ankle from onward fifth month of their pregnancy. There are different reasons behind this issue.
One of the common reasons for swollen ankle is excess production of fluid during this period. The excess fluid gets accumulated on feet and ankle.
Excess pressure on feet due to growth of fetus also induces swollen ankle problem with the carrying mother. Those who are victims of hypertension in pregnancy may suffer from swollen ankle problem. If a pregnant lady has to walk extensively or has to stand on the particular posture for longer period, may suffer from swollen ankle problem.
In pregnant condition strenuous exercise or strong medicine cannot be taken for the sake of well-being of the fetus. Therefore natural treatment is the best way to treat this swollen ankle problem.
Consumption of plenty of water and diluted fruit juices help to flush out toxins from body and also prevents further fluid retention in body by means of improved blood circulation.
Restriction should be imposed on intake of tea and coffee because the impact of caffeine may prove adverse for the fetus as well as it may worse the problem of fluid retention. Juicy fruits like watermelon, guava, papaya, and apple are some natural foods which may help in controlling the problem of swollen ankle.
Pregnant ladies who are suffering from swollen ankle problem should restrict their intake of salt because salt in food initiates fluid retention in body and thus cures the problem of swollen ankle.
Regular light exercise is recommended for pregnant ladies subject to the permission of the attending doctor. The patients of swollen ankle should practice circular movement of the feet in clockwise and anticlockwise manner. Regular practice of this process for 4-5 in a day times will help in controlling the problem of fluid retention in ankle of common people thus will reduce swelling.
Those who suffer from edema of feet, they are advised to consume glassful water with half slice lemon extract added to it.
Alternatively, consumption of lukewarm decoction of coriander leaves helps in reducing the problem of swollen ankles.
Those who are fond of wearing tight jeans and tight outfits may suffer more from swollen ankle problem. It is always recommended to wear loose fitting garments instead of skin tight outfits because it helps in reducing fluid retention in body by natural effect.
