Snoring Remedies
Snoring is not a normal condition; if someone suffers from snoring, it is to be considered the airways of the snoring individuals are obstructed. In some instances, snoring is caused by temporary and minor problems initiated by allergy or cold attack, but in case of serious and severe snoring, the matter should be considered with seriousness.A few remedies can be tried first to control the problem of snoring, however doctor’s consultation is necessary to solve this issue with permanent effect.
Sometimes mucus is the initial trigger to block the airways which results in snoring. In these situations use of salt water is a common but effective remedy to clear the mucus from airways. The salt water is to be prepared by adding ¼ teaspoon of salt in one glass of water. The salt solution needs to be sniffed or should be injected in the nostrils with a dropper.
Sometimes sleeping on the back causes the problem of snoring. Change of sleeping position is an easy but effective remedy to stop snoring because while a snorer sleeps on side position, the chance of airway blockage gets reduced.
Obesity is one of the major passive reasons for snoring. It is important to reduce weight to stop snoring naturally. While a person loses his/her weight, decrease of fatty tissues fatty tissues get decreases which also reduces airway blockage, thus reduces the tendency of snoring.
Frequent consumption of sedative tablets causes snoring because their actions make the muscles and nerves relaxed which in result reduce the tone of throat and nose and stimulates the snoring sound. Thus restriction on consumption of sedatives may help in controlling the intensity of snoring.
Those addicted to smoking may suffer from the problem of snoring. Smoking habit blocks small airways in lungs and thickens mucous membranes.
Alcoholics will have acute problem of snoring because the effect of alcohol causes a spontaneous relaxation of airways toward lungs and causes the problem of snoring.
Those who have snoring problem due to mucus problem; they should avoid consumption of dairy products. Dairy products may cause more mucus in throat hence may increase the intensity of snoring.
