Skin Cancer Nonmelanoma
Most of the skin cancers are almost curable; that is why whenever you will feel some sort of discrepancy or anomaly in skin tone, you need to see your doctor for a check up immediately. You need to see you doctor if there is any abnormal change in skin tone, a sore that is not healed long or sudden appearance of wart or mole, or there is n unusual growth in the skin tone.
Skin cancer is malignant growth in skin cells. But early intervention and proper treatment cures this disease completely unlike other carcinogenic diseases. It is most common type of cancerous disease and mostly two types of non-melanoma are found for treatment.
Basal cell carcinoma is the most commonly found skin cancer type. In its advance stage it may affect deeper tissues, muscles and bones but hardly there is a possibility to spread the disease from one part of body to another.
Squamous cell carcinoma is less common type of skin cancer. Cancer is infected from some initial sore or injury or from some major skin disease. This type of skin cancer may spread from one parts of body to other parts of body.
Over exposure to sun causes skin cancer. In some specific cases over exposure to sunlamps or using more tanning beds causes skin cancer in result. Skin cancer may occur in chest, back, shoulder, and most commonly in nose. The light skinned persons are more risk prone to skin cancer. The risk for skin cancer is higher for men and if they are over 40 they are in high-risk zone of skin cancer.
Exposure to certain hazardous chemicals like X-ray, arsenic, coal-tar, creosote and radio active elements like radium increases the risk of affecting by skin cancer.
To detect cancer you need to consult your doctor and he will ask for a biopsy from the growth on the skin.
If cancer is detected by biopsy, surgery is the possible next step to remove skin abnormality and in post surgery period administration of medicine is given for the patients.
