Reactivation of chicken-pox virus causes Shingles. It is kind of body rash which occurs in one side of the body and causes extreme sensitivity and pain, and irritation. Initial symptoms of shingles are headache, sense of itching, extreme sensitivity to light, and flu type syndromes without any raise in body temperature.
The rashes in body do not come out with these early symptoms but at least after 2 weeks of these initial ailments. The rashes may bring an irritating sensation of pain, itching, or of tingling in the rashes which appear generally as a band or in the shape of stripes in one side of the body.
Blisters are formed of these rashes and then the blisters are converted into scab and these rashes disappear after one week or so. The outcome of the painful rashes as stripes or in the shape of the band helps to identify shingles with out any confusion.
The disease Shingles is infectious. Once the patient of shingles comes in contact of other person who never had any previous infection with chicken pox or shingles before, he/she may be induced with chicken pox infection; incase the person cam in contact had chicken pox then he/she may have infection of shingles.
In Shingles affected person, when the small blisters, which form in the rashes, remains in the forming and healing condition the infection gets spread that time. However, when all the blisters are healed there is the least chance to get the infection spread more.
The reasons for shingles are still unknown. In some opinions it is the dormant chicken pox infection in one’s health system causes shingles in later period. According to some researchers it is the low immunity that causes the attack for shingles.
Overview of the causes can jot down a few ones like fatigue, stress on body, weak immune system, injured skin, cancer infection and due to long term medication. Some times post radiation period also witnesses the event of Shingles infection in body.
You need to seek medical advice if you find blisters are spreading on other parts of your body, or you are feeling terrible pain, blisters are formed near nose/eyes, it may cause infection in eyes, if you are suffering from high fever, or if you are presently suffering from any chronic ailment.
The early detection of the symptoms helps early treatments to start. It is good to take anti viral medication early to avoid severe intensity of infection and pain for the affected person.
