Relief and Treatment of Poison Ivy

Poison ivy is a skin disease triggered by certain allergic reaction; prevalently not contagious instant relief fro itching discomfort in nature, the problem of poison ivy causes bulk of discomfort for the infected person. The general discomforts of this allergic infection is redness of skin, inflammation, itching, and forming mall blister like growths on the affected skin tone. However, in general poison ivy can be treated at home for relief although consultation with physician is good for safety and proper diagnosis of the problem.

A smooth paste made by mixing baking soda and water needs to be smeared on the affected skin patches. Otherwise, a smooth paste needs to be made out of cornstarch and water and needs to apply on the affected skin surface. You should wait until the paste gets dried, then you need to wash off the same with running cold water. These pastes are instant remedies for getting relief from burning itching problem due to poison ivy.

Gentle massage with sunflower oil treated with feverfew flower and garlic cloves helps reduce inflammation as well as redness of the affected skin. Preparing this herbal oil is very easy. You should take some feverfew flower in one cup of sunflower oil and heat the combination for 5-7 minutes in low heat and some chopped garlic cloves should be added to this herbal oil. This herbal mixture needs to be stored in an air tight jar and use on the affected skin 2-3 times a day after shaking well the mixture before use.

Massage with garlic treated mustard oil is good for the home treatment of poison ivy. The suffering patient can smear a pinch of salt on the skin patch and moist them with water. Although the initial reaction of this treatment procedure is irritating but this simple process can provide permanent relief from itching and prevents further spread for the skin rash.

Smearing aloe Vera juice on the affected patch of poison ivy cures the skin irruption fast. Rubbing the inner side of banana peel also helps to cure the problem of itching caused by the infection of poison ivy.
