Pneumonia Causes

Pneumonia is a bacterial infection in lungs; it lasts for 2-3 week at a stretch. The patients may suffer from moderate to mild fever, difficulty in breathing, and they suffer from congested cough problem. Pneumonia is not fatal for adults but for babies, senior members, and people with weaker immunity. For these people immediate medical intervention and serious care should be employed to initiate faster recovery from this problem.
Pneumonia can be community associated where the disease is induced from school or from workplace; it can be health care associated if the disease is induced at nursing home or in hospital.

In general severe cold attack where lungs get congested may induce pneumonia. Otherwise if somebody inhales toxic material for 2-3 days continuously, it may cause chemical pneumonia.
One of the most common causes of inducing pneumonia is breathing infected air; especially it happens fast if there are any infected patients near by.
Otherwise, if someone has otherwise infection in body, it may induce further infection in lung. For example, the patients with diabetes or with kidney problem always prove to be vulnerable to pneumonia infection.
Improper cleansing of air conditioner filters is one of the main reasons for catching pneumonia; however, pneumonia never catches a person for getting drenched in rain or for not wearing adequate body warmer clothes.
Another common reason for developing pneumonia is due to presence of GERD or Gastro esophageal reflex action. Those who are lying down and under treatment process of certain antibiotic based medicines can catch the infection of pneumonia easily.
Excessive smoking and regular consumption of alcohol turns out to be destroyer for general immunity system of boy and low immunity people any time get infected by pneumonia.
Those who are chronic patients of asthma, emphysema, COPD, or AIDS/HIV patients may catch the infection of pneumonia.
Sometimes allergy or respiratory disease may induce the problem of pneumonia in a patients’ body. This type of pneumonia is called hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
In some rare cases pneumonia is caused due to infection from birds like parrots, pigeons, budgies, canaries etc. This type of pneumonia is termed as parrot disease or Psittacosis.
