Natural Skincare Tips for Dry Skin

June 26, 2009

Are you losing sleep over dry skin problems? Tired of the parched, flaky or chapped look that your skin breaks into every now and then? Well, look no further. This article provides some natural tips on how to care for dry skin such that your skin feels supple and moist even in harsh weather conditions.

One of the main problems with dry skin is that though such skin type looks great at young age, yet signs of ageing like wrinkles can start off pretty early. Besides, dry skin is more sensitive due to the lower level of sebum or oil in it. Hence, it becomes all the more essential to take proper care of dry skin, so that you look rejuvenated and refreshed always.

Follow the natural beauty tips given below as part of your regular skincare routine:

1. Wash your face with lukewarm water several times a day, but make sure not to use hot water. In order to feel refreshed throughout the day, spray mineral water onto your face at regular intervals. After washing, pat skin dry with a towel, without rubbing.

2. Drink plenty of water everyday, and follow a healthy diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains.

3. Use gentle, non-detergent, neutral-pH cleansers to cleanse your face of the oil and dirt. You can use cleansing cream in winters, so that your skin doesn’t lose its natural moisture due to rinsing.

4. Use any gentle toner like rose water to rejuvenate your face daily after cleansing.

5. Follow the toning process up with moisturizing the skin generously to help combat its lack of natural oils. A rich moisturizer will leave dry skin soft and supple.

6. Every night, before retiring to bed, apply a natural nourishing cream onto your face. Take special care of the sensitive areas around the eyes so as to prevent crow’s feet and wrinkles.

7. Use a mild body scrub to exfoliate your skin at least twice a month.

8. Make a natural face mask with 1 egg, 1 teaspoon honey, ½ teaspoon olive oil, and a few drops of rose water. Apply the mask once in a fortnight, and rinse well once it dries off.

9. Indulge in a rejuvenating milk bath once a week, and feel the diference it does to your skin.
