Natural Remedy for Bedsore Treatment and Prevention

Bed sores occur when a patient, due to his/her illness and intensity of disease, remains bedridden, in conscious or unconscious state, for longer time may develop bed stores. Bed sores are one type of skin ulcers that occur on the skin that remain under pressure in lying condition on bed.

There are different medications available for bed shore and once it is formed, in its very initial stage, it should be notified to attending doctor. While the treatment of bed sore should be done in accordance to doctor’s prescription, some natural remedies also support the healing process efficiently.

Application of honey poultice on the sore will be good for the natural healing; you need to cover the sore with airtight bandages. Regular application of this herbal remedy on the sore would help you to heal the wound by 2-3 week time.

While honey dressing remedy is continued, one can sponge the sore with fresh cucumber juice. It will initiate faster recovery.

Fresh extracts of gotu kola will help curing the problem of bed sore efficiently.

Rubbing fresh aloe Vera extract soothes the pain and irritation of the bed sores. Regular 2-3 times practice of this simple remedy should be continued till the ulcer patch is not totally healed.

Alternatively, application of vitamin E on the affected skin ulcer patch will help to heal the wound.

Application of tea tree oil on the bed sore helps to treat the wound effectively. This remedy should be continued for 10 days at one stretch.

Application of guava leaf paste treated by 4-6 drops of wheat germ oil helps in healing the ulcer patches effectively.

If the patient who is laying bed ridden can have normal diet, the diet should be made of fiber rich foods like vegetables, fruit juices, whole grain, etc.

Everyday you need to provide sponge bath to the patient with soft herbal soap. Regular gentle caring massage will help to improve blood circulation and initiates faster recovery from the issue.

The bed of the patient should be clean and there should have provision of protective pads on the bed in order to prevent the formation of the bedsore.

The patient should wear 100% cotton garments for air circulation and it is also of great advantage to put the patients in the exposure of soft sunlight.
