Natural Remedies for Sea Sickness

Sea sickness is a type of motion sickness; sea sickness issue creates due to rocking motion of the cruise. Nausea and problem of vertigo are the common symptoms for this problem. However, sea sickness may not be a common hazard for everybody, but those who travel by ship or is in service with shipping company may suffer from the problem. A few natural remedies are mentioned here which can alleviate the problem with efficiency and promptness.

While on ship it is always wise to be on light food. This will help in smooth digestion and will have hardly any provision to vomit.

Some over-the-counter anti-vomiting medicines may work against sea sickness. These medicines can be taken before one hour of boarding at ship; it relief the problem of nausea to some extent.

It is always wise to be in the central part of the ship as this portion of ship remains in most stable condition, thus hardly stimulates any annoying symptoms of sea sickness.

Listening music is a good natural preventive for sea sickness. Those who suffer from sea sickness should listen to their favorite music; it will surely alleviate the irritation by simple process of diversion. Simple relaxation by closing eyes is good natural preventive for sea sickness.

Ginger is a great natural cure remedy for motion sickness; hence it works well against the problem of sea sickness. Chewing fresh ginger piece, drinking ginger tea, or taking ginger sweets can reduce the discomfort of nausea and light headedness due to sea sickness.

Consumption of mint based drinks, citrus fruits, citrus fruit juice, carrot juice, and peppermint tea is helpful for natural treatment of sea sickness. It is not recommended to watch television in order to divert mind while suffering from sea sickness problem. It will make the case worse.

Sometimes sea sickness provokes excessive thirst for water. In this situation, it is always wise to drink water by slow sipping instead of gulping because gulping may cause nausea for the sea sickness affected patients.
