Natural home remedies for oily hair
The problem of oily hair is the over active oil glands and dull look of the hair due to accumulated dust and pollutants on the scalp. This is one of the reasons that oily hair needs special care around the year.
There are various types of products available in market for oily hair care. However, a few ingredients like vinegar, lemon extracts, coconut oil etc. are known to be effective for oily hair care. Here a few easy natural remedies are mentioned for the ready reference of the readers.
It is essential that oily hair needs special rinse which can take away the excess oil from the hair strands. There are different hair rinses available in market; however, some efficient rinses can be prepared at home also. One cup of alcohol into two cupful water should be applied on scalp in post-shampoo period. This simple rinse will surely remove the excess oil from the hair volume.
Unsweetened tea liquor is a good natural remedy for oily hair. The conditioning effect of the liquor gets intensified if it is added with fresh lemon extract. The mixture should be retained on scalp for 20 minutes followed by thorough wash of hair.
Vinegar is an excellent natural ingredient which can extricate extra oil from oily hair. An herbal hair massage tonic can be prepared by mixing white vinegar 3 table spoon and two table spoonful lemon juice into one cup of warm water. The mixture should be applied on scalp and to be retained there for minimum ½ an hour followed by shampoo wash.
Essential oils work as great healing remedy for managing oil production from scalp. Herbal combination of rose geranium oil and lemongrass oil, 8 drops each, should be mixed with 8 oz shampoo bottle for regular use. It will restore natural bounce and natural lustier in oily hair tone.
It has been observed in general that those who have oily hair, they have a general tendency to shampoo frequently. However, overdoing of shampoo is not recommended because the dryness of hair stimulates more oil secretion from hair root and spoils the look of the hair strands.
Deep fried foods are strictly to be avoided; all sort of hair styling products are to be avoided for the better care of hair strands. Those who use conditioner should use minimum quantity on the hair strands and not on scalp.
