Nail treatment: nail care recipes

Nail forms a small part of our body yet nails play significant role in protecting our fingers. Good shaped nails are excellent beauty gears as well.

However, we should take care for our nails to retain their natural; shapes, glow, and color. Nail care is not a tough job but it should be habitual and consistent.

Some nail care rules is to be followed like religion; for example, habits of wearing gloves while doing messy work or with harsh chemicals or while working with water and detergent etc. should be practiced consistently.

Nail biting is not only damaging to health, it is greatly damaging to nail itself. It is important to leave the habit as early as possible for health and nail care.

Homemade nails cares are simple, easy to do, and very much pocket friendly, and the result is usually great. However, it is necessary to combine nail care with daily activities, for example a lactating or nursing mother will prefer to keep her nails short in size, whereas a college student may wish to keep her nails long.

Diet plays a major role in nail care. Very often we suffer from break-prone nails. Soft nail is break prone and those who have soft nail problem they cannot keep their nails long as per their desire. Calcium rich foods should be included in diet because supply of calcium can replenish the natural strength of nails. Instead of taking calcium rich food one can take calcium supplements as well.

Regular massage of nail cuticles increases blood circulation and promotes good health of nails. Moisturizing balm can be used for massage; instead of moisturizing balm coconut oil added with 2-3 drops of tea tree oil forms good massage oil for nail.

Commercial nail hardening products are to be avoided as much as possible; these products are harmful for nail health and nail growth, and makes nail dry and brittle.

Use of lemon extract is an efficient agent for removal of yellow stain from nails. Application of lemon extract promotes natural exfoliation as well as works as lightening agent. Sugar works as an exfoliating agent and it promotes cuticle and nail health.

Moisturization is typically important for good nail health as well as for maintenance of its natural glow. Regular massage of nails with warm castor oil is a good moisturizing regimen; however, for best effect this massage should be done at night. Massage with beeswax and honey also provides good hydration benefit for nails.

Once in a month soaking nails in orange juice for 10 minutes prevents their breaking tendency; regular massage of nail cuticles with vitamin-E based cream is great supportive remedy for nail care.
