Menopausal Syndrome
As puberty is the inevitable attainment of a healthy and physically able woman, menopause is the obvious termination point of the puberty. In this phase ovary stops producing ovum and consequently menstruation circle ceased to exist.
This phase is called menopause and while a lady attains this phase, we can consider that she is no more fertile, she cannot conceive again. Menopause do not occurs all on a sudden but it takes time; irregularity of menstruation circle, irregular bleeding, abnormal or limited flows are some of the symptoms of menopause circle and it brings some major hormonal change in the hormone arrangement of a lady who is in the menopausal phase.
The immediate effects as conceived by most women are the frequent irritation, occurrence of hot flush at night, white discharge, dryness in vaginal space, major change in sex life as believed by most, increase in blood pressure, and in some percentage of women calcium deficiency and acute heart disease are observed.
There are different kinds of menopause and it is wise to know for a woman in which type of menopause she is attending especially if she is patient of breast cancer.
It can be normal menopause, end of puberty in its natural process.
It may be surgical menopause where the phase is set due to elimination of reproductive system.
Cold turkey menopause is a therapy to initiate menopause after initial diagnosis of breast cancer.
Once upon a time, when women were mostly concentrating on their in-house life, use to consider menopause as the termination for their youthful gesture and activities. But now there are many ways to manage the crisis of menopause and after handling the emotional crisis, leading a healthy life is common now.
Low fat diet, recommended exercise, practice of yoga, meditation and maintaining some hobby and own social circle work well to manage the emotional stress of menopause. The physical problems can be controlled by hormone replacement therapy and psychological stress needs to be managed by cognitive therapy and proper counseling, if necessary felt by the person in menopausal phase or felt by her close relatives like daughter or husband.
