Ideal Diet for Urinary Track Infection Patients

Urinary track infection is a nagging problem and causes immense discomfort and irritation for the suffering women. While it is important to continue with the right kind of medications and maintenance of personal hygiene, right diet against the problem and discomfort of urinary track infection can cause better and efficient support for faster recovery from this major ailment.

The diet for the patient of UTI should be comprises of plenty of fluids like water, diluted fruit juice, and 6-8 glasses of caffeine or non–caffeine based drinks, the intake of fluid is important because it can play a major role in flushing out the bacterial infection from the urinary bladder.

If due to intake of fluid the infections in the bladder gets reduced or neutralized, the color of urine will be changed into watery transparent. Otherwise, if there is a problem of insufficient intake of water, it will require more consumption of water –based food and accordingly the diet will be set.

Regular consumption of cranberry juice will be a good option for neutralizing the infection at urinary bladder and cranberry juice need to be taken by the patient at least 2-3 per day. However, the cranberry juice must be undiluted and free of sugar.

Strict avoidance of Sugar and sugar based food will help to restore normalcy and prevent further worsening of UTI. Consumption of yoghurt without any flavor helps greatly in elimination of the [problem of UTI from the urinary track.

Intake of high count of vitamin C will be helpful in elimination of the nagging infection out of urinary system. It is recommended to intake 250-1000 mg of vitamin C or its supplement to get rid off this problem.

The patient of urinary track infection should consume parsley to prevent further worsening of case. Apiol, the volatile oil present in parsley can kill the germs in urinary bladder and initiates faster recovery for a suffering woman.
