Hypersomnia [Excessive Sleepiness]

Hypersomnia is excessive sleeping tendency of a person and it is a kind of sleeping disorder. The person affected by hypersomnia feel extreme trouble keeping awake during all day and they tend to sleep while working as well as even on driving at the lowest example of their sleep addiction.

Some diagnostic tests help in detecting the disease of hypersomnia, which includes blood tests, computed tomography and polysomnography. Polysomnography is a special test helps to detect sleep disorder. In some specific cases electrical activities of brain is estimated by electroencephalogram [EEG].
Hypersomnia is completely curable provided the cause is eliminated controlled. If the problem is created due to some medication, doctor may change the medicine. Alternatively, natural processes like life style modification, intake of balanced diet, regular bathing before sleep, and self -discipline help to tackle the problem.
Apart from natural process, certain drugs like stimulants, antidepressants are often prescribed by the doctors to reduce the intensity of hypersomnia attack.
