How to Treat Sprain at Home

Muscular strain and sprain caused by the strain is a casual event in our life.In case of minor sprains home remedies can work well in restoring normalcy.

However, if there is any severe discomfort and nerve pain is felt due to sprain, it is highly recommended to consult orthopedic specialist at the earliest to treat the sprain pain.

The most effect and efficient way to treat the sprain is to apply cold compress on the paining spot and wrap the area with crape bandage.

If it is foot sprain, you can add some black coffee in the bandage before wrapping the area. It would reduce the intensity of pain.

Alternatively wrapping the paining place with water soaked cabbage leaves would be good option to treat the strain. The cabbage bandage should be there on the paining spot for at least 10-15 minutes.

In case of sprain, you can add 2-4 drops of lavender oil in bowlful lukewarm water and then soak the sprained area in the oil treated water. This simple remedy would provide better comfort against pain and stiffness of the sprained area.

Another popular home remedy for treatment of sprain pain at home is gentle massage the affected area with a combination of garlic oil and almond oil.
You are supposed to take some sunflower oil and have to add some [1 teaspoonful] camphor in it. The sprained area needs to be gently massaged with this herbal mixture and it would surely bring instant relief from pain.

Instead of camphor you can add 2 tablespoon turpentine oil in sunflower oil and it would bring comfort. Until he pain is not cured, this massage therapy should be continued.

Application of Epsom salt compress provides comfortable relief from the pain and discomfort due to sprain.

In case of extreme pain, take glassful lukewarm milk and add 1-2 teaspoonful turmeric powder in it. For best result this turmeric-milk remedy should be repeated for at least two times a day; it is extremely helpful in speedy recovery from sprain related injury.

Make an herbal combination with honey and lime juice and this natural medicine should be applied to the pain induced area. Alternatively, herbal combination with butter and lime leaf-paste, if applied on the sprained place, would bring instant cure from pain.

Herbal bath with lukewarm water treated by 3-4 drops of thyme essential oil drops would be proven effective against sprain pain.
