Home Remedy for Diphtheria

Diphtheria is a highly infectious disease and caused by infliction of certain bacteria. This infectious disease may spread from one person to another person easily by sneezing, coughing, kissing, using personal usable and sharing glass for drinking, etc. Mostly over 60 years and below 5 years aged people, that is children and seniors, are vulnerable to this disease.

The bacteria get activated within 2-4 days after its infliction in the host’s body.

Since diphtheria is a deadly infectious disease and it needs emergency medical intervention, it is essential to take the patient in the nearest center for infectious disease treatment as soon as the disease is diagnosed.

The home remedies are only for initial back up of the patient and in any case should not be taken as an alternative to medicines.

Orange juice is beneficial for the disease of diphtheria; it is to be given to the patient on the first day of the disease, at least 3-4 glasses per day. This strong nutrition packed juice will help to make the immunity system strong, as well as will serve the purpose of food as trouble in swallowing causes poor feed for the affected patient.

Application of hot pack in the throat area of the affected patient will surely help to reduce the pain in throat; this hot pack is to be applied in every two hour interval.

Chew 2-3 cloves of garlic, it will help in lowering temperature of fever caused by the infection of diphtheria virus. Anti-bacterial property of garlic tends to reduce the infection to some extent.

Consumption of ginger tea or ginger juice will help to get some relief in the discomfort; for better taste you can add 2-3 drops of honey in it.

The preventive measures of diphtheria is doing exercise in regular manner, consumption of balanced and healthy food, completion of immunization in the childhood days, living in a toxin free environment.

In case you have a feline pet, you should do its vaccination in due time to minimize the risk of infliction of this disease.
