Home Remedy for Bad Breath

Halitosis is colloquially known as bad breath. The agony of bad breath is the embarrassment caused by this disorder unknowingly because most of the time the affected person remains unaware about his problem and thus the problem persists for long. That is why self -examination is the best preventive of this problem. Putting a handkerchief or napkin in front of the mouth and feeling the mouth odor helps detecting this problem; so, this test needs to be conducted frequently.

Disorder in gum is the most prevalent cause for bad breath. Dental decay at the root of the gum creates pus; odor originates from this pus and from the abscesses created by the decays in gum. Even, if there is small cavity and infection occurs there in the dental arrangement of a person, it may create bad breath.
Although, gum is held mostly responsible for bad breath, it may be an associated symptom of prolong congestion in lungs, nose, throat, and disorder in digestive tract.

Clinical investigation is necessary to check bad breath because if there is any gum infection, it should be recovered by proper medication. Otherwise, some home remedies can be tasted to control this problem.

Fenugreek seeds need to be added in water; like two teaspoons of fenugreek seed needs to be added in 1/2 liter water and the combination needs to be boiled for 10-15 minutes and then like tea the seeds needs to be strained and the boiled water in lukewarm condition need to be consume like a herbal drink.

Green guava and guava leaves are helpful for reducing halitosis. Green and young guava leaves are good for health of gum and chewing green guava arrests gum infection as well as bleeding from gum. Water boiled with guava leaves can be used as a mouth wash and frequent use of it restrict mouth odor, bad breath, even acute toothache.

Juices from green vegetables and raw fruit juices are beneficial for prevention and cure of bad breath problem.

Use of parsley boiled water a mouth washer and mouth freshener help in reducing the intensity of halitosis irrespective of its severity.

Apart from these home made remedies, brushing of teeth twice daily, an intake of healthy diet, eating sugar in restricted quantity help in preventing bad breath in a passive way, because these habits help forming natural prevention of tooth decay and gum infection.
