Home Remedies for Fleas Treatment

Many people like to have pet animals like dog etc at their home.treatment for the disease. However, full care has to be taken that pet do not get any infection or get proper ‘Fleas’ is found very common in pet animals like dog and they get infected with flea very frequently.

Flea is collective term used for the wingless insects that pierce the skin and suck blood. Before seeing a veterinary doctor for the treatment of fleas, a person can try some home remedies.

These are very effective in controlling fleas so that it does not spread to family members at home. Many people use strong pesticides at home for controlling fleas but this is not recommended as it can affect the family members also.

One of best home remedies for fleas control is use of citrus repellent. This repellent can easily be prepared at home by cutting lemon into pieces and steeping the same in the boiling water.

When steeped for a night, liquid can be used as an effective repellent. Citrus repellent is sprayed all over the body of pet covering the area around head and behind the ears, where infection is generally severe.

A person can also prepare an aromatic repellent at home for the treatment of fleas. This repellent is made from the essential oils found in Cedar wood, almond oil and lavender.

All these three are mixed and shaken and are applied all over the skin of pet. This mixture can keep the fleas away. Some people also use oil of trees like eucalyptus for preparing the aromatic repellent.

Garlic is also said to contain anti-fleas properties. Great results can be obtained by feeding pet with garlic. Smell of garlic that is excreted by the skin of pet makes it inhospitable for insects. For making skin more acidic and for getting fast results, apple cider vinegar can be applied on the pet.

If pet has been severely infested with the fleas, an oil bath is recommended. For this purpose, a person can use tea tree oil or lavender oil in the bath of pet. Sometimes, rosemary leaves are also used for preparing the bath.

For keeping the fleas away, a person can also use some external repellents. For example, he can sprinkle diatomaceous earth. Some people use cedar chips all along the fence of home for controlling fleas.

There is no remedy that can give 100% cure against fleas but through home remedies, spread and occurrence of fleas can be checked so that kids and other members at home are safe.
