There are three sections in human ear, the inner ear, the middle ear, and the outer ear. The most common ear infections are otitis externa and otitis media. Otitis media is the infection in the middle section of the ear and it is mostly seen in children and infants. Otitis externa is more popularly termed as swimmers’ ear. This particular ear infection is mostly found in winter season and prevalent in the boys. Although tremendous painful and irritating, ear infection is not at all contagious in nature.
Itching inside the ear, pain in ear, discharge from ear, slight fever, and inflammation in the ear are the main symptoms of ear infection.
In most of the cases ear infection occurs due to blockage of moisture in the Eustachian tube, blow dry for 12-15 inches on head dries up the moisture and reduces the pain. The effect of blow dry reduces the intensity of ear infection also.
Put 2-3 garlic clove in the mustard oil and put the oil on heat. It will make the cloves black in color and the oil will have the aroma of garlic in it. Put 3-4 drops of warm oil in the infected ear and it will provide comfort and educe of pain.
Essential oils made from calendula, peppermint, or cloves are beneficial for controlling ear infection. Mix any of the oils one drop in 2 tablespoon of almond oil and pour 3-4 drops in the infected ear.
You can wash you infected ear with colloidal silver or you can take it orally. It is an antiseptic and it can treat the infection to minimize in its effect.
Raw Neem oil is anti-infective and it can be used as a remedy for ear infection.
Certain foods like orange, banana, watermelons, curd, and cucumbers and foods from refrigerator need to be avoided in case you have an ear infection. On the other hand, you can indulge in taking garlic, ginger, and onion is recommended.
It is better to contact immediately an ENT in case you have any ear infection, but if it is an emergency or a doctor is not available you can try these remedies but it will be unwise not to hurt the ear canal.
