Home Remedies For Chicken Pox
Chicken pox is an extremely infectious and communicable disease that generally occurs in children. It occurs and affects the children within the age group of three to nine years. However, in some cases the attack may be dangerous to older child also. Chicken pox is not a life frightening disease but it is fearful due to its contagious nature.
This disease can be identified by the development of distinct swell ups or blisters on the infected child skin. Chicken pox causes harsh irritation on the skin and itching. But scraping and breaking of the blisters will aggravate the problem to worse. If the chicken pox swellings bursts and scratched, it may cause permanent and sever scratch mark of chicken pox. Therefore, it is very important to resist and minimize the scratching at the eruptions. Usually the rashes or the itching on the skin appears after 2 days of the infection. Chicken pox mostly occurs during spring and winter seasons. The duration of the infection is from ten to twenty-one days, but on an average it stays for fourteen to seventeen days from the time of infection.
Symptoms of Chicken Pox
Generally, a person infected by chicken pox may suffer from mild fever, headache and weakness. Mild rashes appear on the skin on the starting day of the infection. It is identified as small red spots over the skin particularly on the chest on upper side of the back. However, in severe cases, the rashes may be produced on the face also. The red spots become blisters and finally become pustules forming scabs that fall off. They are very contagious and have successive production that when some are dried out, other starts to form.

Chicken pox is a disease that is caused by a harmful virus. However, sometimes the disease may reach serious conditions called as shingles or herpes zoster that infects adults. However, sometimes wrong practices of diet during childhood fevers may result in reduce the defense system of the body. Diet does not have direct consequences on the disease but may affect indirectly or incidentally. During immunity reduction, it is necessary to consume food that is easy to digest and helps to struggle against the infection along with boosting the immune capacity. The best way is to take prevention measures against chicken pox and the ideal way is to take chicken pox vaccination.
Due to highly contagious nature of chicken pox, it is very easy to get infected from a infected person to a health one. It can easily pass through direct contact with the patient or through polluted places and objects. For instance, contact with the liquid produced in the blisters or in neighborhood of the patient when they sneeze or cough. The most unavoidable problem is the absence of symptoms till ten days after the infection, which helps the chicken pox virus to incubate without any sign of infection.
However, various researches indicate that an infected person can fight against the disease by practicing simple diet practices. It is studied that person consuming large mount of fruits and vegetables in daily basis have three times higher immunity against the chicken pox virus than the person consuming less fruits and vegetables.

Home Remedies for Chicken Pox
The main symptom of chicken pox is fever. You can consume catnip tea mixed with molasses for sweetness. It will help to diminish fever. Prepare a tea mixed with basil, chamomile and marigold. Add some amount of honey, lime or cinnamon to the tea mixture. Drink this herbal tea many times a day. Prepare a mixture of 2 tablespoon marigold flower with 1 teaspoon of witch hazel leaves in one cup of water.
Allow the mixture to stay overnight. Apply the mixture over the rashes, which will help to control itching due to chicken pox. Some herbs that are very useful to reduce itching of chicken pox are ginger, burdock root, goldenseal and St. John’s wort. It is very essential to drink lots of water to prevent dehydration. You can also drink juice of fresh fruits. Lemon juice one of the very good drinks for the patient.
Person suffering from itching of chicken pox may have a bath of cold water added with ginger in it. It will help to reduce itching. You can also add neem leaves in warm water and have bath with it to reduce rashes and burning. Take a glass of lukewarm water and add some baking soda and sponge your body with the mixture. Allow the mixture to dry out on your body. It is another useful method to reduce itching on the body.
Fill the bath tab with warm water and add half cup of apple cider vinegar to it. Have a bath and you will feel much better. Another very effective way for chicken pox treatment is use of brown vinegar. Take a bucket of lukewarm water and add half cup of brown vinegar to it. It will reduce the irritation and help to heal the blisters of swell ups.
You can also apply oil of vitamin E on the rashes when they are dried off. Carrots are also very useful in chicken pox. You can consume boiled carrots to fight with weakness due to chicken pox. Boiled coriander is also very effective for stress and weakness relief. However, you can prepare a soup mixed with coriander and carrot and have it. Boil some green peas in pressure cooker. Now separate the water from the boiled peas and apply the water over the rashes to clean them.
Do not scratch the rashes or blisters with nail. If the irritation becomes unbearable apply talcum powder for relief. You can apply honey over the rashes for fast healing and curing chicken pox. Apply sandal wood oil over the rashes on the skin from the first day to the last day they appears. It will prevent bursting of the blisters. However, it is better to prevent chicken pox rather than trying to cure it.
