Bruxism is a kind of dental problem which is also known as teeth grinding problem. It is difficult to detect this problem in its early stage because of its no-symptom nature in the early stage. This disease is prevalently seen in children but adults are not spared .This dental problem in its advanced stage may lead to complete destruction of teeth and abnormal earache and headache.

In case of any kind of dental problem it is better to contact a dentist and it is wise to follow the medicines. The home remedies will definitely helps to cure the problem faster as a supportive back up for the prescribed medications.

It is of immense benefit to chew an apple or a carrot or a cauliflower before going to bed. Consumption of any one of these items will cause rest for the overactive mouth and will prevent the problem of grinding in result. It is one of the best home remedies for bruxism.

In case of acute headache, a warm water-soaked towel needs to be wrapped around the sides of the face. This process should be continued for certain length of time because the warmth of the towel will lessen the irritating jaw and it will impact on the headache due to the bruxism. If this remedial process can be practiced before going to bed regularly it will provide better effect and relaxing result.

Taking warm baths and relaxing massage will help to sort out the problems of bruxism efficiently. Massage will provide relaxation for the stressed muscles and while the muscles will be relaxed, it will result in better pain relief caused by bruxism.

Sleeping by side may aggravate the clenching tendency of muscles and jaw pain may be triggered by these postures. Sleeping on back provides stress free sleep and rest for the muscles which reduce the pain and discomfort of bruxism. In certain cases, contoured pillows are to be placed under face and ordinary pillows are to be placed between the arms to get relaxation from the discomfort of bruxism. Sleeping in this position will definitely help for better management jaw stress and pain problem.

The affected patients of bruxism need to avoid caffeine intake, processed carbohydrates like pastries, sugar candies etc, and alcohol based ingredients or alcohol. The restrictions will definitely add some advantages in controlling the damage initiated by bruxism.
