Common fever is a general physical disorder. Fever itself is not a disease but a symptom of some hidden problems in health system.

Viral fever induces a burning sensation in body; consumption of grapefruit juice in diluted form [1:1 water and grapefruit juice] is often recommended by the doctors for such discomforts. The vitamin C content of grapefruit juice helps to strengthen the natural resistance of body and thus controls the spell of fever. Instead of grapefruit juice, orange juice in dilute form also helps in faster recovery.

Another herbal decoction recipe is mentioned here which can treat fever efficiently. In one cup boiling water one teaspoon turmeric powder, some chopped ginger pieces, a few onion pieces, lemon grass herb, 5-6 basil leaves, and one teaspoon of black pepper should be added to the boiled water. The fever patients are advised to consume this herbal decoction at least three times a day to enjoy faster recovery from fever sickness.
