Herbs For Runny Nose
Runny nose is caused from viral infections. It is generally caused from cold and flu but other things like air pollution, allergens, and nasal decongestants are also responsible for the same. However, a lot of herbs are extremely helpful in relieving us from the ailment. Some of them are mentioned hereunder:Black currant: Mix a handful of fresh red bilberry leaves with 10-12 fresh leaves of black currant. Pour the leaves in a liter of boiling water and allow the mixture to brew for about 10-15 minutes. Later on, pour out the mixture and add one teaspoon of honey into it. Consume this decoction within a single day. This is not only the useful remedy for runny nose but also extremely helpful in fight cough and cold.
Ginger: Ginger is well-known for its anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial properties. Peel out a small piece of ginger and gently chew the root and swallow the juice. This herb not only helps to warm the body but also enhances the blood circulation and also assists to drain out the nose. This should be conducted at least thrice daily.
Bilberry leaves: Infuse half glass of dried red bilberry leaves in one liter of hot water. Take it out of the heat and allow the mixture to brew and cool and then pour out the mix. To this mixture include the juice of one full lemon and 3 tablespoon of honey. Cool out the combination and drink it. This is also thought as a very good remedy for cough besides runny nose.
Onion or garlic: Extract the juice of onion or garlic and mix the juice with a fair amount of milk. Put a few drops of the mixture into the nose for quite a few numbers of times throughout the day. This is known to be an excellent remedy for runny nose.
Eucalyptus: This herb is a familiar remedy for cold and runny nose. The vapors of the essential oil made from this herb is extremely helpful for decongestion of the heart and opening up the nasal passages thereby making it easy to breathe and relieve congestion through respiratory tract.
