Herbal Remedies in Easy Cure for Stiff Neck
Stiff neck is a curse often imposed on us as bolt from the blue and makes our normal movements miserable. Stiff neck problem is basically caused by wrong posture, muscular exertion, sudden neck movements, or by sudden jerk.
In normal instances, stiff neck goes off by 2-3 days by its own course but for the intermediate painful days there are a few home remedies which can provide some temporary relief in relieving the pain and discomfort cause by the stiff neck problem.
According to folk medicine, lemon is a great natural remedy for the treatment of stiff neck pain. Smearing fresh lemon juice helps a lot in relieving the discomfort; the benefit of lemon can be utilized in better way if the patient consumes one glass of lemon juice early in the morning and last drink before going to bed.
Consumption of cayenne pepper and lobelia helps to treat the problem efficiently. Gentle massage with lobelia extract or mullein tea into the affected neck will provide instant relief from stiffness.
Use of hot bottle on the stiff neck will cause some relief from muscle tension and prevent local cramping discomfort in the neck region, thus would ease the pain and stiffness. You can take a pain killer tablet or other medicine with this hot compress to get local and temporary relief from the pain of stiffness.
At night while you will sleep, you need to take precaution against the cold air of air conditioner; the cold air should not directly impact on the affected neck muscles.
According to reflexology pressure point chart, the bottom surfaces of big toe affect the movement of neck. Initially, you need to rub your both hands together till you feel heat in your hands. Then you can start massaging the big -toe -bottoms in circular motion.
The bottom of the toes and the surrounding places need to be massaged gently at a stretch for 10 minutes. Repetition of this massage [ should be done with 2½ - hour interval] would provide relief from the suffocating discomfort of stiff neck.
