Herbal Comfort Remedies for Mumps Patients

Mumps is highly infectious disease but generally it occurs only once in the lifetime. This infectious disease generally affects people within 5-15 years of age; however, there are exceptions also.

The main symptom of this painful disease is painful swelling of salivary gland. Although infectious, there is no direct medicine to cure this problem and in these cases home cure remedies by natural or herbal process can alleviate the pain and discomfort due to this painful issue.

Chebulic myroblan herb with water forms a smooth paste and this herbal paste is advised to apply on the swollen glands. Within 1-2 days the visible positive result on mumps will be observed.

In mumps infection, citrus fruits and fruit juices are to be strictly avoided; instead consumption of vegetable soup and adequate water would help in improving the situation.

Aloe Vera extract treated with turmeric powder and fresh barberry extract is to be applied on the swollen gland and have to apply bandage on it.
You need to make a paste with dried ginger and water; application of the ginger paste on the swollen glands would help in reducing the inflammation as well as alleviate the pain due to mumps infection.

An herbal paste of neem leaves and turmeric powder is often advised for application on the swollen gland. This antiseptic paste helps in reducing the pain and swelling of the gland due to infection.

Peepal leaves are to be smeared with clarified butter; this clarified butter treated peepal leaves are to be warmed on a low flame. When the leaf would be tolerably hot, place the leaf as bandage on the swollen gland .This herbal remedy will reduce the swelling of the gland and pain due to infection.

An herbal paste made of fenugreek and asparagus seeds are quite helpful in natural treatment of mumps; this herbal paste is to be smeared on the swollen glands and the application results in effective reduce in pain and inflammation of the gland.

A small piece of cotton cloth should be soaked in herbal mullein tea and the tea-soaked cloth should be smeared on the swollen glands of the mumps patient. This simple herbal remedy provides great comfort by reducing pain and swelling of the infected gland.
