Heart Disease And The Concerned Risk Factors

Utility of heart in living body is equivalent to life. Like all other body components it is made of some muscles with regular needs of nutrients and blood borne oxygen to maintain its condition as well as to provide optimum output to keep us normally alive. The coronary arteries connected to heart supply fresh oxygenated blood to every portion of heart. If the interior wall of the arteries gets narrowed [due to high level of cholesterol] or somehow blocked the supply of blood gets lesser in amount causing chest pain and the problem of angina.

The deposit of cholesterol inside the arteries is termed as plaque. When due to some internal reason the plaque gets ruptured and it allows clotting of blood the situation leads to generate myocardial infarction or heart attack. As due to clotting of blood the supply of blood id heart is interrupted causing the death of heart muscles.

The symptoms of heart disease are more or less common with all patients. Prevalently it is chest pain; otherwise the patients may have sufferings from tendency of nausea, shortness of breath, back pain, and occasional heaviness in upper abdomen or frequent urge to evacuate as the major symptoms of heart disease. Some patients have complained about a feeling of dizziness and fatigue as the symptom of their heat disease.

Although heart disease may occur with any person irrespective of his/her age, there are some lifestyle pattern which triggers the problem of heart disease acutely.

Smoking, taking alcohol, family history, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and obesity are the causes which trigger the anomaly in heart function and generate heart diseases.

Prevention of the heart disease is the best way to get rid off this problem. For this prevention regular diet, exercise and active life style [according to age and profession] need to be maintained.

Once the initial symptoms are find it is wise to be under regular/ periodical check up of the consulting doctor and keep an eye on the crucial areas of health.
