Health Benefits of Curry Powder

Curry powder is a common cooking ingredient of kitchen; it is widely used in Indian Cooking process. While this flavored spice adds special taste to dishes, hardly we know that it supplies our immunity system with lots of health benefits.

All these health benefits are derived from the unique combination of the ingredient spices found in the curry powder.

Curry powder is a mixture of turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, allspice, anise, cardamom, asafetida, clovers, chili peppers, cumin and coriander leaves. The individual health benefits of these ingredients are described here with outline details.

Curry powder’s main ingredient is turmeric. It is widely known for its natural yellow color and its antiseptic power. The herbal remedies by turmeric is used since old ages in Asian countries as good herbal antidote for cut and burn injuries. Turmeric with milk is treated with good cure for cold and joint pain. Regular consumption of turmeric in foods is a good remedy for the prevention of Alzheimer.

Cinnamon is a natural antioxidant thus fights with free radicals of body and preserves the quality of the preparation as natural preservative.

Allspice helps in better digestion. It is great power booster of digestive system. Anise is another ingredient of curry powder which helps in improvement of digestive system. Clovers are also good and reliable medicine for digestive system.

Coriander leaves are one of the ingredients of curry powder. Besides providing great digestive support for health system, it is great herbal antidote for insomnia and anxiety.

Cumin is another ingredient spice of curry powder. It is great natural booster of immunity power, a reliable herbal medicine for asthma, and good medicine for hair and nails.

Asafetida is a well known herbal support for digestive system; it reduces the problem of gas and flatulence and helps in treatment of respiratory problem.

Cardamom is another great herbal antidote for constipation, dysentery, stomach pain and other digestive problems.

Chili is one of the ingredients of curry powder, responsible for sharp taste of this unique spicy combination. Besides adding taste, chili is a great source of natural vitamin C and vitamin A. It has magnesium and iron which helps to alleviate depression.

Black pepper is another major ingredient of curry powder. Apart from being the source of crispy taste, it is great natural healer of constipation, improves digestion, hemorrhoids, and reduces occurrence of flatulence. It is a great reducer of fat and promoted urination for better excretory function of kidney.
