Handy Tips for Foot Care

Taking care for our feet is as important as we feel obvious urge for skin care and health care. However, foot care is not tough but it should be regular and consistent routine process.

With sincere and regular care only the visible effect and comfort of foot care can be enjoyed. Some simple foot care tips are mentioned here for ready reference of the users.

A foot bath not only cleanses dirt and dead cells, it helps to soften the skin tone from foot sole. It keeps control on formation of calluses. The dead cell layer should be removed by pumice stone or by foot file regularly, this would ensure positive result against prevention of cracked heel as well.

Take a foot massage at least once in a month; aromatherapy massage really works well but it should be done by experts. Reflexology massage also is good option for healthy and beautiful feet.

The skin on the foot sole does not have any oil gland, so application of moisturizer at daily basis on feet is a “must do” care regimen. However, the optimum effect out of this habit can be realized if moisturizing at feet is done at night. If you have the problem of cracked heel you should better use one pair of cotton socks at night after thorough moisturizing.

Whenever you will purchase a shoe, get sure about the comfort of the footwear, and do not be impressed by the design or by latest craze of fashion only. If you use a shoe regularly, it is better to change the shoe by next 6 months. It is better to buy shoes always in the second part of the day because this time feet remain in slight swollen condition thus you can judge the comfort of the shoe in slightly off the normal condition.

Trim your nails at least once in a week, otherwise it may create the problem of ingrown nails. While patting dry your wet feet, take special care about the gaps between two nails to avoid the problem of toenail fungal infection or athlete’s foot problem. While you are applying moisturizer avoid the toe gaps so that these fungus prone already moist places cannot be excessive moist.

Once in a week take alternatively hot and cold water soak session for feet. This water therapy hydrates external skin tone and drag off tiredness. This foot pampering therapy is an indirect way to treat sleeplessness problem of the insomniacs.
