Nails are the sensitive part of our body and demand some special care around the season. Otherwise there is high chance that these delicate components get brittle and lose their natural sparkle.
A few natural remedies are described here which, on regular use, prove efficient and effective for the total maintenance of nail health. However, none of the nail care remedies are costly, but the optimum benefits can be enjoyed only on regular and diligent use.
If you are suffering from nail brittleness, dietary changes are the best possible preventive. Consumption of apricots, carrot, cheese, and broccoli, milk, and milk products helps to supply adequate vitamin A and gradually the brittle nail problem would be cured.
You have to take care of your nails especially when you are working; you can use good gloves for protection of nail.
At night before bedtime, you should smear petroleum jelly on the nails and on the surrounding cuticles; it would make the nails stronger gradually. It may take 2-3 months to see the visible effect after starting these care remedies.
You should always avoid acetone- based or formaldehyde-based nail polish remover, rather you should use acetate based remover for better care for nail tone.
It is wise to avoid artificial nails, because these artificial nails’ glue not only damage nail color and natural smoothness, it increase the chance of nail fungal attack.
Some diet remedies impact well on the nail conditions and may help in retaining healthy glow of nails.
Adequate intake of water and fruit juice supports our health system in maintaining the healthy hydration level of our body, in turn keeps nails hydrated. Because of calcium and phosphorous content, consumption of carrot juice is supportive of nail health.
Shaping or filing nails immediately after bath may prove damaging because nails remain too soft after bath and there is dire chance that filing or trimming issues can make them more brittle in tone. While filing the nails, you are suppose to file them in one direction, otherwise frequent back-and-forth motion would cause severe brittleness on nail tone.
If you are suffering from hangnails, it would be better to include more proteins, folic acid, and vitamin C in your diet to fight the problem. Inadequacy of vitamin B12 may trigger dryness, discoloration, and curved ends in nail shape, so it is wise to include vitamin B12 rich foods in diet.
