Gilbert syndrome is mild disorder of liver; in this health disorder, liver cannot process blirubin, which is originated from the breakdown of Red Blood corpuscles. This mild disorder of liver is also termed as unconjugated benign bilirubinemia, constitutional hepatic dysfunction, and familial nonhemolytic jaundice. However, Gilbert syndrome does not pose any serious threatening to health or demands major concern for medical intervention.
Mostly Gilbert Syndrome is not considered as a disease because of its mild type. The only discrepancy is found in blood test where you will be able to view higher count of bilirubin than normal count range.
Possible symptoms of this disease are weakness, fatigue, and abdominal pain, which are common and insignificant in nature and can be related to many other minor physical disorders. However, there are certain conditions in which Gilbert syndrome may get intensified in its effect.
These physical conditions are illness caused infections like flu or cold, at the time of menstruation cycle, due to habit of skipping meals frequently, over exertion or problem like dehydration etc.
The patients are advised to lead healthy, normal, and balanced life. This disease is not fatal at all, mild type of jaundice may recur time to time but does not pose any serious concern to health.
It is proven that certain events can initiate stimulation for higher count of bilirubin level which leads to mild jaundice. There are certain methods and process, which can help controlling situation and can avert the problem of jaundice.
There are certain steps which can prevent the recurrence of the discrepancy in bilirubin.
The patients should avoid the chance of infection like colds and flu attack.
Stress management is one of the efficient processes to keep a control for bilirubin count; thus stress management is an effective process to prevent Gilbert Syndrome.
Regular intake of nutritious diet helps to build a strong immunity system; otherwise avoidance of fasting and skipping meals will help to keep an eye on bilirubin count.
