Gastritis diet-Foods to avoid

Gastritis is a digestive problem caused by unusual inflammation or severe irritation of stomach lining. The common symptoms of gastritis problem are nausea, abdominal discomfort, bloating, frequent hiccups, stomach cramps, bloating, frequent spell of indigestion, and black colored stools. Gastritis symptoms may occur all on a sudden in a patient or it may remain subdued as chronic problem for an extended period. Although majority of acute gastritis incidents are caused due to excessive alcohol intake and indiscriminate use of anti-inflammatory drugs, stress, viral and bacterial infections, deficiency of vitamin B12, and the problem of bile reflux also contribute in development of gastritis in an individual.

It is not essential that gastritis patients should eat small meals only; instead they can have regular meal in normal 3-4 hour interval.

Milk and dairy products stimulates acid secretion within stomach therefore patients suffering from gastritis should consume dairy products as minimum as possible. Low-fat-foods are easy to digest and hardly these foods stimulate acid secretion stomach. Natural fiber based foods should form a major portion of gastritis die because fiber intake cures constipation and make bowel movement easy and this reduces toxins out from body.
Regular consumption of spinach and carrot juice is great natural diet remedy for gastritis patients.

Gastritis patients should exclude deep fried foods, fast foods, pickles, fatty foods, peppers, salty and spicy food, and all kinds of fatty foods to avoid the pain and bloating tendency of gastritis patients.

Foods prepared with vinegar , caffeine based drinks, carbonated soft drinks, alcohol, mustard, and citric acid-based drinks are general irritants of gastritis hence these foods should be strictly avoided.

Foods which are enriched with flavonoids should be stringently avoided by gastritis patients. For example garlic, onions, celery, apples, and onions are not recommended for gastritis diet because intake of these foods may aggravate the adverse reactions Additionally, high fat foods and high cholesterol foods are to be strictly avoided by all gastritis patients because these foods are considered as common irritants of digestive system, and gastritis patients may feel great discomfort while having this food in their diet menu.
Consumption of foods like cabbage, milk, broccoli, etc. is general foods which may stimulate excess acid secretion and are considered as restricted foods in gastritis diet.
