High blood pressure is harmful for health in 2-way reasons. First of all this disease is harmful because it damages the heart and initiates gradual deterioration its functional capacity. On the other hand high blood pressure problem induces some gruesome diseases in health system like kidney failure, damage of general eye vision, heart failure, stroke, arteriosclerosis etc.
The ideal diet of high blood pressure should be made of those foods which help in lowering blood pressure level. On the other hand the diet chart should not include those foods which are considered harmful for hypertension control.
In some of the instances faulty food habits induces the problem of hypertension. Thus it is important to know the foods we should avoid and foods we should consume in high blood pressure diet.

Those who are patients of high blood pressure should restrict their intake of sodium; that means they should avoid salt based foods. Processed and canned foods contain sodium as natural preservatives; extra salt in cooking should be avoided to limit the consumption of food.
Red meat is almost a prohibited food item for high blood pressure patients as this food item tends to increase the risk of induction high blood pressure by 35%. Needless to mention, that those who are suffering from hypertension disease already, they will face adverse reaction on health against consumption of red meat at regular diet.
Sugar based foods and saturated fat–based foods should be stringently avoided by high blood pressure patients. A group pf doctors though allow limited amount of fats to be included in patients’ diet, but the decision to include fats in hypertension patients’ diet should be strictly regulated by the present health condition of the patient.
Processed foods are high in salt, lesser in fiber count and generally high in calorie. Therefore, it is safe play for the high blood pressure patients not to include these foods in their diet.
Alcohol does not have any nutrient in it; on the other hand, alcohol damages kidney health and high in calorie count. It stimulates blood pressure level and damages arteries. So over all boozing is to be avoided for the sake better quality of life.
Those who do not smoke, and enjoys controlled blood pressure level may be allowed to consume alcohol in moderation; however, it is better to avoid it.
