Foods That May Trigger Your Headache

Headache is common physical disorder in our daily lives. Hardly there is any person in our surroundings who had not suffered from bothering headache. Although these are some triggers for induction of headache, but hardly headaches follow any particular reason to occur.

However, extensive research and study has revealed the fact that condition is one of the major triggers of induction of headache in health system of an individual. Lack of sleep, stress, anxiety, climate, work schedule, sun exposure, vision defect, and diet plays important role in determining the underlying condition of a person. Among the major player of headache promoting factors, the role of foods are no less important.

Here a few common headache inducing food items are mentioned for prior set of precaution from bout of headache:

It is better to avoid alcoholic beverages, for example, beer, red wine, vermouth, and champagne, because these beverages improve blood flow in brain. Because of the toxins originated out of these beverages headache gets induced in body.

Consumption of cultured dairy products is one of the major triggering factors of headache. For example, yogurt, cheese, sour cream, and buttermilk are the major players in dairy food category, are proven to be headache friendly dietary items. Out of cheese categories, cream cheese, cottage cheese, American, and Velveeta are permitted varieties as harmless dairy products whereas Brie, Cheddar, Camembert, Emmentaler, and Stilton are notorious for their headache inducing tendency for their tyramine content.

Processed foods are headache prone in their dietary effect because of high count of salt and dose of preservatives. Thus processed meat, sausages, hot dogs and bacon are to be avoided stringently to keep a tight control on headache. Similarly consumption of smoked fish, meats, salami, chicken liver, pepperoni etc. are to be avoided as much as possible in order to prevent spell of headache.

Due to sulfate content, in some instances, dry fruits induce headache problem in body. Those who have frequent problem of headache should impose strict avoidance on consumption of banana, citrus juice more than ½ cup, red plums, raisin, papaya, and avocados. Some types of beans also induces headache, therefore consumption of feva beans, lima beans, snow beans and broad beans should be restricted.

Due to caffeine content, consumption of chocolate may induce the problem of headache for some people; consumption of monosodium glutamate, which is common preservative in processed and canned foods, may induce the problem of headache, so its consumption should be under control.
