Omega-3 fatty acids is known to be very good for health and is known to help cure a number of ailments. So ensure that you include plenty of foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids to your diet.
Fishes like tuna, salmon, mackerel, etc. are rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. In case of depression and stress, certain free radicals are formed in the body. Omega-3 fatty acids strengthens the immune system and helps eliminate these free radicals and hence helps fight depression.
Vegetarians can have nuts like almonds, walnuts etc. to reap the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids. You can also change your cooking medium from regular oils to olive oil. It is a known fact that olive oil is the healthiest cooking medium, but it is also proved that olive oil is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids. So by using olive oil for cooking you will keep fit and free of depression.
Flax seeds are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids and so you can include those to your diet.An ounce of dark chocolate few times a week elevates the levels of the feel good hormones of the body known as serotonin. So, you can have some chocolate without feeling guilty to fight depression. Red wine also works in similar manner and so you can also have an ounce of red wine few times a week.
