Food Intolerance

Food intolerance is the adverse reaction of body against consumption of certain food. In case of food intolerance small amount of food may not cause the adverse reaction in body in acute manner, but if the intolerant food is taken in larger quantity the discomfort and other bothering issues start disturbing.However, food intolerance is different from food allergy and food poisoning because like allergy the immunity system of body never gets activated nor the intolerance relate problem occurs due to contaminated food quality. Food intolerance is completely caused by physical discomforts of body and in no way is involved with psychological reaction of body.

The problem of food intolerance varies from one person to another. The exact reason for food intolerance problem is not known yet; however, it is mostly assumed that when a health system cannot produce the requisite chemical against a food to digest it, it shows food intolerance against that particular food.

For an example, cow’s milk in many instances causes food intolerance in different persons. The sugar content of cow milk is termed as lactose, which gets digested by an enzyme called lactase. Those who have inadequate lactase production, on consumption of cow milk shows intolerance against it which is termed as lactose intolerance.
The symptoms of lactose intolerance are quite similar to the general symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome problem.

Another common instance of food intolerance is the inadequate production of alcohol dehydrogenase. Those who suffer from this inadequacy, little mount of alcohol in their digestive system causes extreme discomfort and sever health hazard.
The symptoms of food intolerance often seem to be similar to food allergy. This is the reason this health disorder is often termed as pseudo-allergy reflex of body.

Food intolerance problems are not harmful but this problem causes lots of unpleasant health conditions which may bother the victims. The general symptoms of food intolerance are nausea, bloating, flatulence, abdominal pain, and indigestion related diarrhea. The severity of symptoms often varies on the quantity of the food intake; however in case of alcohol intolerance, the victim may suffer from nausea, fainting, intense headache, and palpitation problem.

Consciousness and constant monitoring are the main solution for the control of food intolerance. The trial and error process is the best way to detect the problem of intolerance in an individual even for a growing baby. In case the problem remains severe in every occurrence, consultation with a doctor is recommended.
