Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a problem that may start with the puberty. There is a kind of tissue inside the uterus that hold the fertilized egg, in the problem of endometriosis, the growth of these tissues are seen outside of the uterus also. This problem though painful and created other complications, not fatal in its nature and hardly shows any symptoms in many patients.

The clump of the tissue which grows outside of the uterus is called the implant. Implants can grow on ovary, on outer line of uterus, fallopian tube, and on the intestine or other pars of abdomen. Although very rare, in some cases these implants may spread out of the abdominal area.

In the menstrual periods the implants in the uterus get broken causing bleeding which goes out of body. But the implants outside uterus cannot breakdown and the blood cannot go out of body because of their position but the thick and sac like implants created pain and occasional bleeding.

Mostly fluid filled sacs and scar filled tissues are generated out of the outside implants and in maximum cases the formation of such cysts prevents abruptly in conception of a baby; it delays or hampers the process of pregnancy.

There are some symptoms like feeling of pain during, immediate before the menstrual period or pain in the lower abdomen, or in the pelvic region or in the vaginal area. Pain is felt during intercourse and sometimes before bowel movements. In fact the intensity and the position of the pain depend on the growth location of the implants. Sometimes pain is felt during sexual intercourse.
