Effective Herbs For Migraine

Migraine is a recurrent headache that can be throbbing and bad and it can last at least for a period of four hours if it is left untreated. This headache can hit the people at any time and treating the headache at all times may not be convenient. The anti-inflammatory, relaxant, decongestant, stimulant as well as anti-coagulant properties of the herb help to get relief from the migraine headaches. Intake of about 100mg to 250mg of the herb on a daily bases is best for getting relief from migraine headaches.

Pine Bark: Pine bark is considered as a useful herbal remedy for the curing of the migraine headaches. A large number of researches and studies have confirmed the use of the herb in the treating of the ailment.

Butterbur: Butterbur has been traditionally use for the treating of spasm in the respiratory as well as in the digestive tract. The use of the herb helps to keep the airways open. This herb is also thought of as an important factor for the curing of the recurrent migraine attack. The main active ingredients of butterbur are petasin and isopetasin.

These active ingredients inhibit the production of leukotriene which is a substance that is responsible for the inflammation of blood vessels. Since, there is no inflammation; there are fewer chances for migraines to crop up.
