Eclampsia
Eclampsia is a pregnancy related ailment. A women previously diagnosed with pre-Eclampsia may turn into the sever grip of Eclampsia during her last phase of trimester. In pre-Eclampsia, if a carrying lady is diagnosed with high blood pressure and protein in urine, the condition is considered positive to diagnose for pre-Eclampsia. Eclampsia is a fatal condition for pregnancy and may tend to the seizure of coma.
The general symptom of Eclampsia in a woman is blurred or double vision, seeing double spots, severe headache; sometimes Eclampsia and pre-Eclampsia is termed as toxemia.
Exactly the causes for Eclampsia are still unknown that is why it is not possible to prevent the attack for Eclampsia. In most occurrences it is seen that Eclampsia occurs in case first pregnancy and in most cases there is problem of placenta or the way placenta is attached to the wall of the uterus.
Eclampsia is seen as the family tradition although till date no definite reason for this genetic coherence has been established with definite medical reason.
For some unknown reason the problem of Eclampsia and pre-Eclampsia is mostly seen in African American women rather than in white women.
In case of hydatidiform mole pregnancy where neither the placenta nor the baby remains in the normal form often Eclampsia occurs with the carrying mother. In case of twin pregnancy, multiple pregnancy, women with older than 35 yr of age, and carrying women with high blood pressure may have the problem of Eclampsia in their later stage of pregnancy.
Previous history of diabetes, connective tissue disease, and kidney disease are the triggering reasons for developing Eclampsia in a pregnant lady.
There is no cure for Eclampsia. Once the Eclampsia is occurred in a woman it is better to make the delivery as early as possible, in case Eclampsia occurs immediately before the delivery. In some cases Eclampsia can be occurred with 24 hours of the delivery and in some rare case after 7 days after the delivery.
Immediate intervention with Eclampsia is necessary if there is any visual disturbance, persistent severe headache, unusual cramping in feet, and in lower abdomen, slow movement of baby, sudden bleeding from vaginal place, sudden pain in middle of the belly or right side of the belly immediately under the ribs, unusual high blood pressure you need to call your doctor or need to visit the nearest health center immediately.
