Different Types of Skin Cancers

Skin cancer is the malignant growth on skin tone and there are different reasons for skin cancer. There are different symptoms for different types of skin cancers. Most of the skin cancers are detectable in their early stages; however there are a few varieties of skin cancer, rarely found, which are not detectable like their familiar siblings.

In general there are three types of skin cancers that may affect a person and these three varieties are Squamous cell Carcinoma, Basal cell carcinoma, and Melanoma. Each of the types has their own distinguished manifestation on skin tone; therefore it is easier to detect its type in case of induction by the caner specialist.

Excessive exposure to skin tone, habit of smoking tobacco, family history, long retaining skin wounds are the prevalent causes for the infliction of skin cancer.

Basal cell carcinoma is also termed as non-melanoma skin cancer. The main symptom for this type of cancer is appearances of small fleshy nodules on neck, head and hands. In some instances these nodules can be seen on the trunk of the body. One of the typicality of these nodules is their even growth. The infection of cancer takes place on the epidermis layer of skin and it grows very slowly. Another typicality of this type of cancer is that it affects mainly the white complexioned people and almost never for dark skinned people.

The good part of this type of cancer is it is curable and complete recovery rate from Basal Cell carcinoma is 95% in an average.

Squamous Cell carcinoma is detected by red scaly patches on the skin tone. This kind of skin cancer affects mainly the people with fair skin tone. The tumors or red patches of squamous carcinoma are mostly seen in the ear rim, face, lips and gradually these tumors get spread on the other parts of the body. This type of skin cancer is curable if treated properly and from early stages; however squamous carcinoma is more aggressive in its nature than Basal cell carcinoma type.

Melanoma cancer is found in the melanoocytes and it is the most dangerous kind of skin cancer. However it is found rarely and it affects generally the adult persons although there are instances of melanoma infliction in growing children and minor children. People with red hair, blue eyes, and fair complexion are more susceptible for melanoma skin cancer.

However dark skin people can have melanoma infection in their palms, foot sole, in mouth, and on under nail parts of body. It can appear on body in the shape of new mole.
