Diet low cholesterol: dieting for low cholesterol count

Cholesterol is without doubt a harmful ingredient in blood which increases the risk of heart diseases. There are different treatment remedies for high cholesterol count, for example, medicine, exercise, natural remedies etc, out of which low cholesterol diet is one of the most effective processes. Research and study has revealed the fact that following a meticulous low cholesterol diet, we can slash down 20-25% bad cholesterol count, even in the most serious conditions.

In order to follow a low cholesterol diet, one has to know the name of foods which are supportive for lowering cholesterol count. As a whole, healthy fats like fish and vegetable oils are good for cholesterol patients and animal foods are to be strictly avoided.

Instead of using butter, trans-fat-rich margarine, and polyunsaturated oils for culinary use, use of olive oil, plant sterol spreads, and canola oil would serve better and healthy purpose of cooking for a cholesterol patient.

Dried beans, fresh fruits, vegetables, vegetable juices, and whole grains foods are to be included in daily diet menu for the cholesterol patients.

In departmental stores some foods are available which are created for low cholesterol diet plans; it is better to purchase food ingredients from that category to be at safer side of diet for low cholesterol program. For instance, instead of whole egg, a high cholesterol patient should consume cholesterol-free egg.

Oatmeal is an excellent natural food for cholesterol control. Therefore oatmeal should be included in daily breakfast menu; it helps in lowering cholesterol level which is good for overall health.

Instead of using butter white wine vinegar should be used in cooking. It will not change the taste of foods but will provide benefits of low cholesterol cooking.

Those who are suffering from high cholesterol count should avoid garnishing materials like sour cream, butter, and fatty additives and instead of these harmful ingredients should use spices like coriander, cumin, basil, thyme etc in cooking.

The foods good for high cholesterol patients are green vegetables, fruits, fish and shellfish, rice and cereals, nuts and seeds, and pasta etc.

It is good to include natural fiber in diet. Both insoluble fiber and soluble fiber should be included in diet plan; whole wheat flour, nuts, and wheat burn, vegetables are good source of insoluble fiber. Oats, peas, apples, carrots, barley, and beans are examples of soluble fiber.
