It is better to take all types of supplements on doctor’s prior permission because there is chance of potential interactions of the supplements with the prescribed medication which may impose major problem for the patient.
It is wise not to take any kind of artificial sweetener like saccharine, aspartame, or Splenda etc. and it is desirable to put conscious restriction on snacking. It is always wise to go for real butter instead of margarine etc. because vegetable oils in these butter substitutes are not healthy option for hypothyroid patients.
