Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary arteries are the main arteries which supply blood in the heart purified by nutrients and oxygen. Sometimes due to some discrepancies in the health system, the walls of these coronary arteries get narrowed. The depository build-up material, mainly with fatty acid, which narrows the arteries are termed as plaque, it is known as coronary artery disease.
As these fatty deposits narrows the pathway of the arteries, heart tends to get lesser amount blood supply; due to inadequate blood supply, heart tends to receive lesser amount of blood and thus gets less active or overactive.
This inadequate supply of blood to heart triggers the chest pain problem as well as problem with shortness of breath and many other variable symptoms. However, a complete blockage may take place due to ruptured plaques, or collected plaque which may initiate for heart attack in some specific cases.
It takes years in developing the problem of coronary arteries, and in initial stage, whatever the symptoms denote this ailment, mostly the problem of coronary arteries remained unnoticed until the patient suffers from a severe heart attack.
However, infliction of this disease can be prevented by maintaining a healthy life style, at the first occurrence of the concerned discomfort denoting the problem of coronary heart disease.
The acute discomfort and general symptoms of the coronary artery disease shows the problem of chest pain. The intensity of chest pain varies form one person to another and while it is paining, the patient may feel a suffocating discomfort in chest which is like the feeling of pressure or tightness. Sometimes the pain triggers the discomfort in back side in arm or in some instances it shows problem in abdomen.
Shortness of breath is another acute problem for the coronary heart disease; this symptom gets aggravated in case the patient suffers from extreme strenuous jobs resulting in intense fatigue.
When due to deposition of tarter, coronary arteries will come up with less efficient performance, it ill initiate for a heart attack. Tightness in chest, shortness in breath, and numbness in the arms are the major signal for the heart attack.
