Corns-How to remove them from foot

Foot corn is called callus also and these are caused due to unusual accumulation of dead cells which are initiated by friction or pressure of the skin. Frequent walking and use of wrong type of footwear are the major triggers for foot corn.

Using comfortable footwear and walking in the right posture prevents formation of corn.These are the easiest and most effective preventive remedies for corn treatment.
Foot corn causes pain and irritation. Therefore it is important to remove them from foot.

There are two types of corns available. One is soft corn and second is hard corn. When corn remains in its initial stage, it remains soft. If corn remains untreated, it becomes hard. It is painful and hard to remove hard corns; it is wise to consult a doctor for the treatment and removal of hard corns. For softer corns some self-treatment remedies can be applied provided it does not hurt the skin.

Soaking foot with Epsom salt and warm water for 5-10 minutes is a good natural remedy for make the accumulated dead cells soft. This remedy should be followed for 2-3 days in a week. After soaking the foot in salt water, rubbing foot with pumice stone helps to exfoliate the dead cells for foot bottom and removes soft corn.

Application of lanolin based creams is good remedial process for the treatment of foot corn problem. Lanolin based creams make the skin under the corn soft in gradual effect. Use of this type of ointment cures corn within 2 week time; however, for complete treatment it takes one or two month time.
However, it is not recommended to use acid based ointments for removal of foot corns because in these situations foot corns may become infected and lead toward dangerous condition.
Sometimes doctor may suggest the use of salicylic acid to treat the corn; the use of this salicylic acid reduces its size.

Another safe and effective corn removal process is corn removal technique by using soft insoles. It takes time to treat corn with insoles but it resists further worsening of the case as well as helps corns to disappear with gradual effect. There are different types of soft insoles available in market; it is wise to use the category suitable for the particular condition of the corn.
There are different types of pads, plasters, and cushions available for corn treatment. On doctor’s recommendation you can use those items also to treat the corn on your foot.
