Common Causes and Symptoms of Tinnitus Problem
Tinnitus is a kind of physical ailment related to sound illusion; the affected patients of tinnitus suffer from hearing some buzzing sound in ear which no other person can hear. There is no specific treatment for tinnitus unless the underlying cause is detected.
Once the root cause is detected and treated, the problem goes off automatically. There are two types of tinnitus: one is objective type and the second one is subjective type. In objective kind of tinnitus problem, people around the affected person can hear the tingling sound, is subjective type of tinnitus the patient only comes to hear a buzzing sound where no other person around can hear the sound.
One of the most common causes for tinnitus problem is damage in the microscopic ending of the inner ear which takes place with the advancement of age. Presently, constant exposure to very loud noise has accounted as another general cause for tinnitus problem. Some particular medicines, for example, aspirin, if not taken under doctor’s supervision for an extensive period may cause tinnitus problem. In some specific cases tinnitus is displayed as a symptom for underlying diseases like brain tumor or Meniere’s syndrome etc.
Apart from these specific causes, there are some other common causes for tinnitus. Out of the list, chronic health problems, damage in auditory nerves, blockage by earwax, sudden changes in ear bones, continuous stress and depression, head or neck injuries, head and neck tumors, high blood pressure problem, irregular blood circulation, deformity of blood capillaries, and atherosclerosis are the common reasons for this physical disorder.
The symptoms for tinnitus are typically different from other diseases. The patient of tinnitus hears frequently the sound of whistling, hissing, and clicking sound. There are some patients who have reported about hearing ringing sound, buzzing sound, and roaring sounds around their ears almost every time whereas they cannot find any other person in his/her surroundings who can hear the same sound.
Due to continuous irritation about the source of unknown sound, the patient of tinnitus suffers from abrupt lack of concentration; he feels difficulty in sleeping or concentrating on some particular work, suffers from continuous feeling of depression and anxiety stricken mentality, feeling of irritation, and maladjustment with relatives and friends in life etc. With medication and aid of cognitive theory this kind of problem gets over quickly.
